The RainboWelcome project
How to improve the reception conditions for LGBTQI+ refugees? How to fight against the intersectionality of discrimination they face? And how to build a more inclusive society for people forced to flee their country on account of their sexual orientation or gender identity?
We are honoured to present the #RainboWelcome project, which we have been working on for several months now!
This large-scale European project in partnership with four other organisations aims to:
– Identify the legal procedures and concrete processes for the reception of LGBTQI+ refugees;
– Identify the strengths and weaknesses of responses to their specific needs;
– Equip the structures involved with the necessary tools for the reception and orientation of these people;
– Raise awareness of the situation of LGBTQI+ refugees;
– Advocate their rights and needs to the EU.
